Hi Everyone, I just had RNY surgery with Dr. Gluck on Mon 12/31/07 and have a question.   I keep looking through all of my paperwork and can't find the info I'm looking for. Can anyone remind me of the nutrition phases for his patients.   I was on clear liquids at the hospital, full liquids now and consult with the Nutrionist again at 3 weeks out to get info on Phase 3 & 4.    I will wait until then of course to change my diet, I guess I just want to get some ideas now of what I can eat next.   Is it pureed foods or soft foods or are these the same phase?   How long does this stage last before I can try other foods like meat. I keep hearing about how refried beans with a bit of cheese is great for so many or even a scrambled egg and guess I'm just wondering if that is my next phase or further out.  Thanks!!!   Jodi

I had surgery with Dr. Gluck on November 26th.  The next phase you will be on is soft foods.  Here is the list I received from the dietician: Eggs Fat Free Yogurt Low Fat Cottage Cheese Soft Fish-baked, boiled, grilled Small Shrimp, Scallops, or Crab Tuna Fish Bean and Lentil Dishes/Soups Fat Free Refried Beans Low Fat Luncheon Meats Low Fat Cheeses (soft/shredded) I do great with scrambled eggs and refried beans with cheese.  I hope this helps.

The diet for RNYers is different than for Gast Sleeve....please check with the dietician at Dr. Gluck's office for what diet you are to follow.

Your welcome, Jodi.  The food list I gave you is for RNY patients, so don't worry.  You will have a lot more options with this phase.  Good luck!
