newbie(cross post)

Hello!  My name is Donna and I am new here.  I started looking into WLS in October at my Drs' suggestion and I now have a date of February 12th at Sparrow Hosp. in Lansing.  Thank you for all of the information on this board.  I have been looking around, reading for almost a month now and have really found some awesome ideas and stories.  Now, if only the date would arrive:0)

Welcome Donna!  Your day will get here soon enough.   Right now you should start preparing and getting healthy.   Start taking vitamins and learning to eat right.    Get out and walk and exercise.   Practice sipping on water, etc.    The more you learn now the easier it will be post op.   Get all the junk out of the house and get ready, it's an awesome life coming for you.   Linda

psssssssssst  Jodi I thought you had a lap-band not a RNY ? But I am sure you know what you have.......... Gosh maybe I have been following the wrong patient... I am glad you like what you got !!!! Good job sister

:O)  I was thinking about the lap band a long time ago.. but ended up going with the RNY.  GREAT decision on my part!  I did not want all the maintance with the lap band, and wanted to lose weight faster than what the lap band would allow me to... JMHO on the lap band...

Now i understand why your ticker is going down so fast.....lol You were smart. Knowing a fair amount about both operations and looking at just BMI as the deciding factor for you I would have picked RNY also. I bet you are thrilled. Good luck in all you do

Hello everyone! I've been thinking about surgey for quite a while but never went through it. But I took the plunge and now can wait!! I noticed that most you girls are form this area. I'll live near Muskegon but grew-up and work in Grand Rapids. I don't know my surgeon yet. But its throught MMPC, so I know I'm in good hands. I need to go to the sleep clinic to get some testing before I can move forward. I'm with Donna I can't wait for the date to come  as soon as I find it out :)

Dr Foote...Dr Foote...Dr Foote...Dr Foote...Can you tell I love Dr Foote... :O)  Any of the Dr's at MMPC are great.  I just am partial to Dr Foote because that is who I had.  He is great!
