Help I am back sliding into old bad habits

I was banded in August of 2004. I lost 65 lbs in about 4 months and kept it off for 3 years. Now I am off track, not exercising, not sticking with program, eating way too much and gaining weight back like crazy.  I can eat a whole plate of food, so I would think I need a fill, but every few days I get something caught and end up vomiting and wretching.  My band Dr. moved to Chicago.  I would like to find Dr. in Port Huron.  Anyone know of one?  I need to start over.  Get some counseling and I need to know why I keep getting things stuck.  Usually it is with breads, eggs and toast, hamburger with a bun, a breakfast cookie, usually just after the first bite.Sometimes if I can feel that it is caught and I quit eating it will just hang out in my throat for a while, but others everything comes up....funny, I can eat bad things, chips cracker cookies and they go down fine.....I am so discouraged.  I wanted to see this through to the end this time, even had plastic surgery on arms and breasts(reduced)  that was a waste....I look like Mrs. Frankenstien, I guess I don't heal very well, have gross scars around breasts, and she did not take enough off arms....I am a mess.  I need someone to get me back on track....please....

I don't think your doctor would do you any good right now. You know what you are doing wrong and what to do. You just need to do it. Find a support group - even if it is an rny group. Go to weigh****chers - anything where you can get ideas and help. kp

Sealantlady, you are the only one that can get you back on track.  Go to the support group forum and find one in your area and start hitting the meetings.  It seems that the only things getting stuck are bread-like items.  Try cutting them out and see if things get better.  That might also help with your weight loss.  Start keeping a food diary and mark EVERYTHING down that you eat (try Fitday.com - free).  Do no more than 1200 calories and 30 grams of fat each day and you will see the weight loss come off.  Go find a gym or some place you can exercise.  I bought a home gym and I have to look at it every morning when I get up and so I get on and do my exercises. You know what you need to do so start this new year off right by doing them.

"Usually it is with breads, eggs and toast, hamburger with a bun, a breakfast cookie," HI Sealantlady,  I am surprised you are eating these things as they always get me stuck with unfavorable results, even eggs sometimes.   You are the only one who knows what you are doing and what you need to do but we can urge you on.  So, go back to what you are supposed to eat, high protein, low carbs, stay away from the breads (oh, how I would love a hamburger in a bun right now).  You know..... Good luck.

PH hospital has a large lap band clinic (at least they advertise alot!)  I'll admit I don't know much about it, but it's worth giving a call and seeing about their support group.  I went out of town because quite frankly I just know way too many people that work at that hospital!!! (besides, I did the rny instead and they don't offer it there).  Anyways, as you can tell I'm in the Port Huron area -- one of the townships and doing lots of walking/running.  Let me know if I can help you at all, maybe meet up at the mall and do a couple of laps. You sound like you know what you should be doing -- get back with it and utilize that tool that so many struggle to get!!! --Sax

Hi, Just wanted to 2nd the info about Port Huron Hospital. The lap band is all they do there, unless they've recently changed. I have a friend who works at the hospital and had it done, with great success. I can't remember her docs name right now, but you should call the hospital and check it out. Good luck!
