H.Pylori-have you heard of this?? Please respond.
I know you're anxious to have this surgery, but any surgeon worth anything will do just as yours is doing. I also tested positive for H.Pylori and was put on antibiotics. I was never retested to see if it was gone and then had surgery. 10 days later I was back in the hospital via ambulance and ER because I was vomiting a great deal of blood. Over a pint lost within 20 minutes. Turns out my entire pouch was an ulcer and bled. I now believe had I been rechecked, this MAY have been avoided. I do however feel I was lucky that no other complications had arisen. As far as vitamin deficiencies...these are SO important to have in check before surgery because your body needs to be able to heal properly.
Your doc seems to have only your best interest at stake here and NOT the lining of his pocketbook.

Crazy, isn't it? I had one originally which is how they found the H.Pylori, but there was no follow up to it. Unfortunately I didn't know enough about it to realize that I should have been retested. It was a scary ordeal, but I lived and my ulcer acts up only occasionally (when I eat spicy/acidic foods) but it doesn't bleed, thankfully. Thanks much for your concern. :)
