Info about diet and exercise
Just an interesting bit of info I found on another site. Doesn't ALL apply to us, but I found some of it interesting anyways!

my opinion on the article...
6 months: it said after 6 months if you havn't lost you probably won't. (thats encouraging)??
I dont' believe it, I'm going to loose it !!!
exercise: 90 mins a day, ain't gonna happen, not for me. I'm happy for all of you who can do it. If I can walk 30 mins 4 days a week i'm doing great !!
Breakfast: I can't eat... not that I ever did, but now, I Can't.... even tried a protein shake yesterday and slimed for 1/2 hour. sticking to decaf coffee till around 11am. so that's out the window.
I am speaking for ME.....
I believe making changes in our lifestyle (food, exercise, habits) is very important, but, I also believe in making changes we can stick to. If exercising 90 mins a day was something I could never do before wls, (Mentally or physically) then its probably not something I will stick to for the rest of my life. Making an effort to take the stairs, or walk 20 to 30 mins a day, is do able, 90 mins is not, NOT FOR ME...(this would explain me not loosing all my weight in 6 months). I am making those changes that are DOable in my life, something I can stick with. LIke on the Biggest looser, do you really think these people will stick to the same things when they get back to real life? with kids, family, jobs, I do believe, changes will be made, but seriously... JMO

Hey Cheryl! I TOTALLY agree with you!! You gotta do what's right for you...we ALL do!!!! Just like the losing for 6 months part........sure, there's a honeymoon period for us after WLS, but, IMHO, we have a bigger time frame for loss and the ability to KEEP it off is what sets us apart......I think....again........jmo!
I didn't mean to upset anyone by posting this article........I just thought it was interesting. Sorry if I've upset anyone.....

Ruth, I was telling my side, and what I think. I'm not upset at all. I just feel at 50 years old, if I was never able to diet and exercise before, that wls wasn't going to change that. And THESE people, who say this information are not morbidly obeste. I like to discuss my point of view, please don't be offended. I just wish I could understand the second article. hehe
I'm not offended at all...I thought I had offended you...sorry! I agree that some of these people......though they have "book" smarts, maybe have never been through what we've been going through most of our lives. I really think that msn article was intended for non-wls people..probably........but, then again, what do I know? haha
YOu should know me a little bit by now, I can't shut my mouth, just one more thing to work on I guess. I didn't mean to make you feel bad, it was just my opinion. I know you've been able to make so many changes, and make them successfully, but not everyone can do it. I would be one. hehe bye the way, I"m a scallop freak now, just took some out for supper and I can't wait, lol
Please Cheryl!!! Don't keep your mouth closed! I love and value your opinion!! I truly do! Don't know what I'd do without your insight!!!!! Please.......just keep being you!!!!!!!!
btw...I totally hear ya about it being hard to make changes!! It's a constant battle!!!! Trust me!!!
mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCALLOPS!!!!!!!! I'm looking forward to mine for supper too!!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!
