The Date is near

Thanks so much for all of your posts to read by a "nervous nellie", not to mention new to message boards and from what I read a "newbie" to boot.  Just to let you know I'm ready to join the ranks of all of you but having butterflies thinking about THE DAY.  Please tell me this happened to many of you!

Welcome!!  I think I'd be more nervous for you if you WEREN'T nervous!  This is a huge life change but WELL worth it!   Do you have a date yet?  I noticed that Dr Loggins is your surgeon.........how far along in the process are you, if I may ask??  Which surgery are you going to have and when?  (I'm just a curious one, now aren't I??)  haha

Butterflies are "normal"!  Ask any questions you may have and someone here should be able to help you out!

you have reason to be nervous.  I would be willing to place a bet that everyone here had a day or two where they freaked out.  I did, and Surgery is nothing I worry about, I just realized, this was was going to change my life, going to change my eating habbits, foods, comfort,  I just freaked out.  but was ok, wanted to live and be healthy is much more important then food.  its been a long slow journey for me, but I am not sorry, not for a minute.  Best of luck and welcome..

Nerves are normal - this is a major life change. I woke up in the recovery room thinking I was going to tell them that I wanted to cancel the surgery.....imagine my surprise when they told me that it was already done!

Thanks all for replying to my post.  My date is November 10th.........less than two weeks.  I have been going through this process for a year and a half.  I had some setbacks, family health crises but that's all behind me and now it's time for me to tend to my health.  I am having the RNY (isn't that the acronym?)  I meet on Nov 4th for my PAT and I've been on a pre-surg liquid diet for a few days, to meet the criteria set by Dr. Loggins.  I have to admit that I'm finding it difficult to have just the liquid but so foar I'm hanging in there.

Your date will be here before you know it!  Time flies!  WOW!  The liquid diet is tough, but Dr Loggins (and staff) are great and will do what they need to to make this surgery as safe as possible for you!  You're almost there!!!!!!!  Congrats!!!!!!!!  We'll be saving a spot for you on the loser's bench!!!!!!!!!!
