Frustrated
I am getting tired of my grouchy pouch.
I have been weighing my food. Dinner was 1 oz of talipia, 2 pieces of green bean and about 1/2 teaspoon of mashed potato. It took me 25 minutes to eat. I chewed 25 times, swallowed, put my fork down, waited, took another piece. It was 45 minutes between liquids and dinner.
Slimed....
........good bye dinner.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??? I can drink liquids no problem, burp a good bit. Surgeon says it's not a stricture or blockage. She say's I'd be extremely ill with either of these.

I'm so sorry, I can so relate, after this weekend, I wish i could help, but not sure about RNY. All I know is it sounds like your going slow and chewing. I believe it takes time for you toheal, just go slow and give it a little while longer. dont be too frustrated, you will heal and feel terrific soon. OH, what is TAlapia?? Try some scallops, OMG, Ruth should have forced me to eat it sooner, I'm addicted now. good luck, Hugs, cheryl
Oh Emily - I'm sorry that you are going through this - these first few months can be a challenge - but rest assured it will get better.
You probably aren't doing anything wrong - this just happens to some people.....I went through this along with some constant nausea. As hard as I tried I could not find anything that caused this - sometimes it happened before I actually ate anything.

I'm really sorry to hear how grouchy your pouch is! I'm glad you've checked with your doctor though....better safe than sorry! Sounds like you are doing the right things though.......chewing and going slowly! Maybe it'll just take a bit longer for your pouch to adjust to the more solid foods? I hope it gets better for you soon! Keep us posted! Hugs! Ruth
So sorry Emily that this is going on. some people can not eat fish and sometimes solids are a little to soon you can go back to the mushy stage and see if that helps. i had a real hard time with hard portein that is why i ate alot of eggs. and pudding
give the pouch a break when you get sick. The other thing i found was my bigger meal at noon instead of supper.
It will get better.
might take awhile tho.
Have a great day otherwise. Hope work went ok!!!

Thank you all. I'll try softer foods and the larger meal at noon and see what happens. So far pouchy likes eggs, banana, peanut butter, cottage cheese- all the softies.
