ok, i've calmed down a little from my dr's appt.  I won't get into detail, except for Same old, Same old.  my blood work is perfect.  EXCEPT !  you ready for this?  My cholesterol, has jumped up from normal to dangerously high.  I HAVE NO CLUE, how this happend.  any way, after reading up on why this could happen, I come across the fact that if you have thyroid problems it could cause a shudden spike.  So I call Dr. L, first time I ever call for a problem, I felt bad bothering them, I asked if my thyroid was checked in my bloodwork. (no it wasn't) Mike said, that makes sense, it would cause a spike, and not only that, but it would cause me to be having a hard time loosing weight.  well,  Monday I will call my pcp and schedule bloodwork for my "T".... I have to say, I am anxious to find out if this could be the cause.  I feel great, except for very worried and concerned now for my chol.  I'm having a very sad afternoon. but I made some ff lemon pudding w/ cool whip and wow, it was amazing, just like a lemon pie.........yummy !!

I am wuss #2, and supprizingly no, it don't hurt at all.  the pressure hurts more, when He pushing with his fingers to find the location of the port.  His assistant has been doing it the last 3 times and he pokes around more then Dr. does.  But today he was just as good as Dr.

That's really odd about your cholesterol!  I sure hope they get to the bottom of it for you!!!!  If it is the thyroid, at least that would explain why things have been moving so slowly for you!  I sure hope they figure it all out!  I know needles aren't fun, but at least it might help them figure this all out!!!!!!
Hugs!

I have been wondering about your thyroid for quite awhile but assumed that you had been tested. If indeed you are hypothyroid once your meds get regulated you will lose like crazy. Start using egg beaters instead of real eggs and um try n limit the red meats.Hope all goes well with that.

hi Kathy, when I call Dr. L and asked if tested for T, Mike said yes, in the beginning process, but not this last round of bloodwork,  I'm not sure about my PCP, but like I said, I'll call him on Monday, they are closed today.  I am very concerned about the Chol, but actually would love to hear possitive on T, it would be a reason for both the C and weight loss.  I'm just affraid they won't find anything wrong with the T.  I dont do eggs, at all, Yuk!  only in recipes maybe.  and Red meat very small amount also.  I will have to start eating oatmeal.  well, we'll see.  thanks all,

You may also want to read up about thyroid symptoms on the internet, sometimes bloodwork doesn't always show up.  Good luck, it runs in my family and made my grandmother very overweight until she was diagnosed. She's been a size 10 ever since the 70's.
