Mid-Coast Support Group
I heard from an aquaintence, Barbara, who had RNY in May '08.( some of you may have met her at Apria in Camden when you got your CPAP machines)
She has started a peer to peer WLS support group which met today for the 1st time. It's an informal group of WLS people meeting to support each other. Barbara says 5 people attended today's meeting, there was a lot of information and suggestions passed around- enough to keep them for 2 hours! They plan to meet once a month.
Unfortunately I didn't reply to her phone message in time to know about today's meeting. But she phoned me this afternoon and told me what's happening. I have her permission to offer this to the OH Midcoast members here.
If you're interested the next meeting will be Saturday, Nov 15, 10 AM at the 3 Dog Cafe, Route 1 in Rockport.

Sounds interesting - right now I'm in a holding pattern before making any commitments with this house purchase still hanging over my head - most likely with any luck after all this time I will be painting and moving at that time. But if it continues like it has - I may be there in Nov, if not maybe Dec?
Thank you so much for letting me know. I have been trying to think of a way to get one started around here so that those of us who live in this area didn't have to travel to Bangor all the time. I will pass the word along to my co-workers who have had the surgery. I look foward to meeting more friends and being welcome to the losers bench in december.
