I don't have kids- haven't been able to get pregnant after a little over a year of trying...taking a break for now, too emotionally draining....

I have every Friday and Saturday off....guess our schedules don't mesh well...but we could keep trying!

Hi Lissa!  I love Dr Trieu and the whole office staff there.  They drinking before and after a meal is a big step, but well worth learning early.  It is still one of the hardest things for me at 17 months out.  We are trained to have a drink with our meals, and it is so hard to get restaurant staff to understand that we really DO NOT want a drink.  They make me nuts when I eat out.

As far as protein, I had to show 70g on my pre-op meal record sheets.  It was not too bad to get to 70g, so 80-90 might take a day or two of thinking but you can do it :)  Most meat and cheese are 7g of protein per counce.  Eggs are 7-10 per egg depending on the size of the egg.  Protein drinks are great in the morning if you are not a big breakfast eater (I hate breakfast early in the am.)

Here's my 70:
breakfast:
coffee
EAS Carb AdvantEdge low carb Protein drink: 20g  (I love the pre-mixed ones!)

Lunch:
salad with
4 oz meat 25g

snack:
1oz cheese 7g

dinner
4oz pork chop 28g
broccoli
stuffing

That is my 70g for the day with mostly low fat protein sources.  Sometimes I will trade one ounce of meat on the salad for an egg or cheese.  Sometimes I will have a protein bar in the afternoon (Pure Protein brand = 20g with very little carbs.)

I am post-op, so I knoe that that seems like very little food. Before surgery I did not worry about the carbs as much.  I tried to choose healthy ones, and ones that would fill me up. But it was not a big concern.  A sandwich stacked with the meat for lunch, more sides with dinner.  Whatever kept me from being miserable.

The only think I have ever seen Cheryl call someone on with the protein was when the woman ate nothing but cheese and eggs to get her 75g a day.  Cheese and eggs are fine for a little a day, but at 75g of protein that is A LOT of fat.

Super lots of luck!!!  Send me a message if I can help at all.
 :) Sheli
