So the first meeting went well, I am down to 293- down 6 pounds in aobut 1 1/2 weeks- woo hoo, even the dietician said so!

She has requested me to not drink for 30 minutes before a meal and for 1 hour after a meal....one step at a time, I plan on starting this on Sunday as they work best for me as  "starting points".

She also requested that I start having at least 80-90 grams of protein daily- anyone got any good ideas how I  can manage that one?

I see her again in 8 weeks (December 12th), I really want to be at my goal weight of 273 for this appointment....

I am going to get a few more work out videos from my favorite walk away the pounds lady leslie...hubby and I are going shopping this weekend for clothes for our trip to Montreal November 5th-8th.....I also hope to be down 5+ pounds by then, like 287 (under 290)...WE'LL SEE!

Hope everyone is having a happy columbus day ....on this rainy day in Augusta,Maine suprisingly I am!

wow, great job, you can do this.  we've all been there and it is a work in progress.  drinking with meals is a challenge for me even to this day.  But, you can do it.  as far as 80-90 cal, that is not hard, if you think your having a hard time meeting that, get a protein powder, have a shake, for breakfast or snack, it will give you 20 gr. more, depending on what kind you buy.  Keep up the good work, you can do this.  Are you counting your calories? there are many on line calorie counting journals that work great, everyone uses different ones, some look everything up manually and write it down.  good luck, Cheryl

I use WW online, counting points- I am alloted 36 for my current weight. It is working for me. I will just have to count protein grams and make sure I hit my mark or I won't be considered for curgery, thanks for the advice on he powder or shakes- I will take you up on that starting with next week when I go grocery shopping.

Congrats on your weight loss!!     You are WELL on your way!!!!!

80-90g of protein isn't really that hard!  Just gotta plan for it!   Fish, scallops, shrimp..all very high in protein and low calorie too!   Turkey jerky, eggs, tuna, chicken...all good sources.  You could also try some of the Kay's Naturals stuff (higher calorie snacks, but they also have protein..example: the cinnamon pretzels:120cals, 6g fat, 6g sugars, 10g protein per serving) or maybe some soy crisps (if you are a snacky kinda person, as I am)

As Cheryl said, keep a log and if you find you aren't where you need to be, add a protein shake.  I've also found that drinking a glass of milk boosts my protein for the day too (I use Hood Calorie Countdown Fat free dairy beverage.....8oz has 8g of protein, no fat, 3 g of sugar, and 45 calories........so it's a pretty good balance!)

Good luck!

Great job on the loss.
The protien is not really that hard.  Just plan on a protein item each time you eat.  Nuts, tuna, fish, chicken.  Do you weigh your meats?  3 ozs is 21 grams of protein.  So really pretty easy.  Low fat cheese sticks as snacks have 7-8 grams of protein.   I also use K2O drink mixes.  They have 5 grams proteing and 5 grams fiber in each packet.  I love the iced tea and pink lemonade flavors.  They are really good.
I started to go to Planet Fitness in Augusta.  Really nice gym.

I just started and I don't have a schedule set yet. I have 3 boys that keep me running so I find it a struggle to get to the gym.  I did not get to go today because me youngest has been sick all day.  I want to go tomorrow just not sure how he will be feeling.  Not looking good as of yet.  I would love to have a work out buddy though.  It does make it more enjoyable at the gym.  Do you have a particular time of the day that you could go?

As many have already said - that amount of protein isn't that difficult to get in, I eat 5-6 small meals a day, plan my protein portion first for the day and then fill in with fruits and veggies.
