Grateful Sunday
I walked to church this morning. I showed up in time for the announcements and last hymn, but had planned it that way. I was there to collect the offering- I'm the treasurer.
A few people knew I had surgery. They were shocked I was walking around and told me how wonderful I looked. One lady asked when my surgery is- she couldn't believe it was last Monday.
OK- my spirits are boosted
I hug the pastor, as I leave the sanctuary. He says " I've heard all kinds of awful rumors about you and being in the hospital" to which I said "they're true, I did have surgery" - And proceeded to tell him about my RNY.
I am so thankful that I live in this day and age when we have the technology and know how to do major surgery which doesn't keep someone bed bound for weeks.

Deb- This is a "pay it forward" type of thing. I learned so much and continue to be inspired by the OH'ers who have experienced RNY before me. I'm happy to have a place to rejoice in the small and large steps- and inspire others at the same time.
