I am wondering what you all are told to take for vitamins...  But here is what I was told to take...

ETA:   We are also told to take 2 Multi Vits a day as well as Iron (2 a day).  Due to the malabsorption issues of the RNY patient.

I'm not sure what Dr. L tells his RNY, I was told chewable and hated them all, so I take the multi vitality, choc., chewable.  once a day.  but again, im not RNY, I know they have to take 2 a day, not sure what else they have....

I don't take anything chewable anymore. Just for the first couple of months. My vits are really small anyway.  Also Viactiv is recommended but I am not sure why. I have read that it has calcium carbonate which we more than likely don't absorb.  I think I need to have a chat with Miss VitaLady

My labs have been normal so all I have to take according to Dr. Loggins office is 2 multivitamins a day.  I take the Centrum chewable ones.

Very good!!   Now make sure they check your iron regularly. I am not saying your doc is wrong. but Iron deficiancy can be built up over time.  I would still take the iron as a preventative. I know someone from my support group that had a hard time after not taking it for 5 years.

This may all change next week at my 6 month follow up..but, for now:
2 chewable multivits....I STILL like the chewies!
1 iron tab.......18mg daily
(I also take Zinc and GNC's Hair, skin and nails multi to help with hair loss)
At my 2 month check up, Dr L told me I could take Calcium, but it wasn't absolutely necessary.
That's all he wrote for me!
