good for you for doing this for yourself. i'm only 7 months out from surgery so can't have this for a while but i have already called my insurance to see what they cover and what needs to be documented. i've also talked to the plastic surgeon in lewiston for their requirements. i will definately get my tummy done but also want a boob lift. we deserve it after all we've been thru. now to find a sugar daddy to pay for it all!

Hi Sheli.
Just a quick question.  You mentioned the fees are "to be under $15,000 for the surgeons fee, the OR fees and the anesthesia."  So does that mean you won't be admitted?  I can't imagine this is a one-day surgery.  How long does the surgeon think you'll be in the hospital and what is the estimated costs on that?

This is considered outpatient surgery.  OR time is expected to be under 4 hours.  Then recovery room for 2 hours (ish) then home in the afternoon, with major pain killers and a follow-up appointment in 48 hrs. The surgery is performed in the day surgery center which belongs to the plastic surgeons office (off site from the hospital) They use the anesthesiologists  from Maine Medical Ctr.

Wow.  Outpatient surgery.  Going home the same day worries me but having the actual surgical proceedure doesn't.
Have you scheduled your proceedures yet?

I have not scheduled it yet.  I need to balance the cost out of pocket, time needed off work for both hubby and myself, and the needs of the family.  This all means that it will likely be early March to late June before I can have the surgery.   We are trying to pay for this cash so as not to have more debt looming over us, and with 4 kids it is important to schedule in the "off season."
