My day at the fair and an update on my eating habits!
Well, I just loved the Common Ground Fair! (Sorry I missed you Deb. It was much bigger than I imagined!) I wished I could have walked more, but I did quite a bit for me. Sat down a couple of times and I did take the tractor-shuttle in and out, but walked a lot around the grounds. What wonderful arts and crafts they have! Wish I had some extra money to buy, but I took some business cards with website info for some of my favorites.
Today I started eating more veggies as I said I would, especially between meals for snacks. At the fair there was a concession with grilled veggie wrap and I asked for it without the wrap (since I have yet to try bread except for communion...that's a story in itself!) and I got a big bowl of them. Mostly zucchini and summer squash and broccoli and cabbage and onions. I ate mostly the squash and some of the broccoli. First of that I have tried and it sat well. They put about a tablespoon of garlic cheese on the top and it was great. Then I got home and had 2 oz of tenderloin steak and a whole bunch of fresh asparagus and I was happy. I have been so very lucky in regard to being able to eat most anything I have tried. I was very careful with the steak to take really small bites and chew chew chew.
The best thing I noticed is that when I got home after all that walking my feet were not a bit swollen with fluid. They haven't been at all since the surgery and they were ALWAYS (especially my left one) before. And I stopped taking my fluid pill in the hospital even. So great! Of course my shoes are all falling off me! LOL
Oh...let me share one of my secret pleasures with you all....I love watching Project Runway and Top Design on Bravo! Love it! Anyone else?

I'm glad you had a great day - and certainly some wow moments early out.....and it only gets better.
Any artist/craftsman's websites you think we...me...hehe....might like to see? I so wish I could get there sometime myself.
I am a reality show junkie.....although I don't care for the big brother/survivor types - I love Project Runway - it's in my top 5 fav shows - gotta love TimGunn. I am however behind a couple of weeks on this as well as top design.....and I'm so excited - Cloris Leachman is going to be on Dancing with the Stars - she's 82 - what courage and *****

Terri sounds like you had a wonderful day at the fair. The crafts and awesome there.
Once upon a time DH and I were on the staff of Common Ground Country Fair. I was the food area coordinator and DH was the logistics coordinator. That was back in the days when the fair was held at Windsor fairgrounds.
We went last year ago, but don't have plans to go this year. This weekend is devoted to cleaning before company comes on Sunday and again on Thursday. So far vacuumed and washed the front hall, living room, dining room bath and kitchen. Still want to shampoo a couple of carpets.

I went two years ago but didn't make it last year...couldn't believe how much it had grown over the past couple of years !! My favorite was the lady making the braided rug outta the old socks...I could have stood and watched her all afternoon

Hope you have a great week ~
