Recovery time

I was just wondering how long to expect to be out of work.  I work in an office on the computer all day so there is not too much physical activity.  My surgery is scheduled for 10/20 and it just happens to be our busy season and I feel bad that my co-workers will have to carry the load but at the same time I have been fighting for this surgery for 3 years and I'm so ready to get it done.

first of all congrats on getting your surgery after all this time.

i was out of work a full 2 weeks. i wish i had more time off because i would have taken at least 3 full weeks. i came back to work half days for weeks 3 and 4 and back full time on week 5. dr. loggins hates to let anyone go back before 6 weeks so you'll have to convince him you will take care of yourself and listen to your body. i found i was very tired the first few weeks out. the pain was the easy part. but i also commute 45 minutes each way.

pace yourself and take good care of yourself.

You will get a variety of answers here - I took a little over six weeks, it was very helpful - I was tired all the time.

I took 5 weeks, Dr. L wanted me out for 6. I am a therapist and sit and listen so he oked it, and I am glad for every day.  Iwas tired for about a week and then it got better every day.  The last week I visited with my DD and grandson in NY and had a wonderful week, so prob could have gone back after 3-but we are all dif.

It was magic when she realized who she had become...

I had lap band, was in Hosp only one day, other then gas and tummy being sore, I was back to cooking meals, laundry and taking care of my little man (NOt hard work) within a few days.  but I didn't do the normal heavy stuff I do.
