Why am I gaining weight?
Terri, dearest Terri!!! GET OFF THE SCALE! haha....jk...but truly, I think we've all had stalls along the way and, YES, I've gained that pound or two up and down more than once. Our bodies are trying to adjust! I had a stall at about 2 weeks out, if I remember correctly! My typical cycle is to lose 4-5 pounds in 1 week and then gain and lose the same 2 for 2-3 weeks before it starts coming off again. Our bodies are just amazing...I'm still baffled by how it all works! You could also still have some fluid, even though you may not see or feel it, it could be lurking in there somewhere!
It just doesn't seem logical that we could actually gain weight on 600cals/day, but, if our bodies go into "starvation mode", I've heard that it CAN happen as the body tries to hold onto everything you give it to find some nourishment.
Just keep doing what you are doing! Follow your nuts recs and the weight will start dropping again. Watch your sodium intake, get plenty of fluids and protein and you'll see it start dropping again. It'll happen! Don't get discouraged by a couple of pounds!

Thanks Ruth. I think I need to pay attention to my sodium. The last few days I have had 2 oz of deli sliced turkey and 1 oz swiss cheese for one of my meals. And I discovered Wendy's Chilly (yum) and though I only eat half of a small, I am sure it is higher in sodium. And, now that I think of it, I sprinkled a little salt on my fresh asparagus last night. I haven't used the salt shaker since before surgery. So I will cut those things out and see if it makes a difference between now and Saturday. It is good to remember about the up and down though.
