I got my band June 2006 and didn't feel the restriction until my third fill in October 2006. I had the 10cc band. When the foamie**** I had 7cc's in. I had 1.5 removed. I did lose about 55 pounds with the band over 1.5 years. I ended up having the band herniate, twice. All the fluid was taken out and after 6 weeks the stomach looked good again, so had 4.5cc's of fluid put back in. Two days later I had the flu and herniated again, so as of last April had all fluid removed for the second, and last, time. I ended up gaining back 28 pounds! My doctor did not want to replace the band as he thought I would have more problems, so I agreed to have RNY. That was done Aug 25,2008. I just hope you have no problems with your band. Do just what the dr and nut say and you should do fine. Although, I did what I was supposed to. I had very bad acid reflux and figured that was what triggered my first herniation. Be careful and diligent of any feelings you think you shouldn't be feeling! There seem to lots of herniation and slippage with the lap band. If you can't drink and keep it down, call your doctor! If you can't lay down at night without waking with vomit up in your throat or mouth, you have a problem! Call your doctor! Please don't take this post badly, just be careful. Yes, I did want my band replaced, but the dr wouldn't do it, so even after all the problems, I was game for another try! You hang in there and it will work.

Oh, Eileen, I absolutely don't take this message bad.  I appreciate all the help, from dr's support and people like you who can give me helpful input to make this work for me.  RNY IS NOT and option for me.  I won't go into that, but it was the band or nothing  I really want this to work for me. I dont feel I need to loose 100 lbs. and will take what I can, but I just wish I could loose at least 30 lbs.  till now I have been able to eat everything, NO stuck, no sick, pain, nothing. I"ve felt great.  Which is good and bad.  I am still looking for food, when I shouldn't be.  the foamies or slime I had yesterday was caused by eating that wasa cracker for breakfast, "I THINK"....  I will start my day with coffee or shake from now on.  I have no problem at night with Acid reflux or anything.  my problem is i'm 5 months out and have lost only 6 lbs.  and that was due to me dieting not the band.  I'm just very eager for help.  I"m not an exercise nut, I have been walking, 3-4 days a week, but I have artritis in all my joints and that is enough for me as far as pain is concerned.  I wish you luck with your RNY, you will just fly off the charts now.  Please continue to visit us on the board I know I can use your input, not much band folk around in Maine I guess.  THank you and many Hugs, cheryl

So sorry you got stuck but it sounds like your "sweet spot" of a fill has been found!!!  Yeah, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.  Enjoy your morning coffee.  I can't eat anything until about 11:30 or it gets stuck or causes foamies ~ doesn't matter what I eat so I stick to water and coffee.
