lapband in Mexico
Hi,
Wondering if anyone in the Maryland area has gone to Mexico for Lapband. I am considering doing this, however, i am concerned with finding a doctor in Maryland to do my fills. I live in the DC Metro area. If anyone from the area knows a doctor that will do fills please let me know. Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Clara,
Congrats on your weight loss so far. A few other people mentioned getting VSG instead of lapband. If I may ask, how long were you off work and how was the recovery after surgery? I have contacted Dr. Alvarez's office. I just need to get the funding for the surgery. I am hoping to borrow from my 401K. I will just have to wait and see how it goes.

Hi, Colleen,
Someone on hear just mentioned that their insurance has stopped covering lapband fills. They are $150 a pop, 4-6 times a year. Who knows what they might cost down the road. Something to think about. You can revise VSG to a DS if your weightloss is inadequate down the road.
I went back to work yesterday. I took all week of last week, but the holiday made it only 3 sick days. O could have worked on Friday, honestly. About 80% of the people I've talked to had similar fast recovery, and about 20% need more time, are in pain, etc., before they go back to work. It was essential that I not take off much time because I produce a daily radio show. It barely seems like I've had surgery, really.
Best wishes,
Clara

Hi Clara,
I am working towards VSG with Dr. Alvarez. I am trying to get a loan through my 401K. If I get the laon it wil not cover all the expenses, so I will still have to finance some of it. I hope it woks out. I am so miserable and unhealthy.
I wish you continous success in your weight loss. Thank you so much for your help. Your the only one from the Maryland board that contacted me. I will keep in touch.
