One Year ago....

So tomorrow is my one year anniversary for my surgery. What a difference a year makes. I am now a size 8, down from a 28. I now weigh 160 lbs, down from 283 ( my biggest, 271 the day of surgery). At 5' 9" that puts my BMI in the NORMAL range!!!! More importantly I am healthier and happier than I have ever been. So to those of you who have prayed for me, worked out with me, listened to me or just quietly sat by, Thank you all. I could not be the person I am without all of you.

Love ya!

Dianne

Congratulations on your Surgiversary.  I can only hope to be as successful as you over the next 10 months.

Heather,
Thank you! YOU WILL BE a success, IF you follow all the rules. I am not perfect but 6 days of the week I am. I give myself 1 day a week. It varies every week as to what is going on. AND I don't go overboard that day either, I just give myelf a little less restriction.
Also, my best advice is exercise. I know some people believe that it doesn't make that big of a difference, BUT I do. I read a while back in a book that 1 lb of body tissue only burns 2 calories a day, but 1 lb of lean muscle burns 50 calories a day. mmmmm I would rather my body be burning more calories. And that is just resting, when you are active muscle burns even more than other body tissues. I do my best to get to the gym when I can, but I make sure to workout 5 days a week.  Even little things help, like just "pumping up" the laundry detergent 5-10 times every load, and when I have to go to the store I park FAR FAR away and walk. Little changes make a big difference over time.

Best wishes to you for a great year!

Thank you.
As I said before, this tool WORKS as long as you WORK your tool. Follow the rules and get in as much activity as possible. When your bored- go for a walk. Park further away and walk, take the steps, and if you are early walk back down and up again. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

I wish you a wonderful first year, and I can't wait until this time next year to see how far you go!
