LMAO!!!!!  I know, I know....it's a sickness!!!!  I start wearing Christmas items the day after Thanksgiving and don't stop until the day after New Year's!!!!  I have enough earrings so that I could wear a different pair each day without repeating, the same with pins, and that doesn't include the bracelets, watches and necklaces!!!!  Oh, and I do have several purses, too.  SIGH.

I draw the line at light-up headwear!!!  LOL!!!

Thanks for this Tia...and can I say GOOD GOD!!!  I thought my family had alot of different foods and I have 5 sisters, 4 of which are married with their own families...I think we'll have 20 for Christmas this year.  However, it all sounds really, really good.

I just told my Mom that we wouldn't be coming down for Thanksgiving...7 hours in the car for a meal that I barely have anything of just doesn't appeal to me this year.  Plus I'll se everyone a few weeks later anyway.

However, since the entire family will be together for Christmas (that hasn't happened in several years), we've already begun planning.  Of course the menu is at the forefront of everyone's mind.  I've offered to bring some s/f crustless pumpkin pies (in muffin tins) for at least myself as well as to do some veggie dishes.  One of my sister's is already talking about Bagels for the before present opening "breakfast" and my mom sent an e-mail out today saying that she is bringing "deserts and brunch munchies (different biscotti, fruit breads, assorted cookies, etc.), lebkuchen, Christmas cookies, and I'm experimenting with baked donuts."  Holy Mother of God...can we say Sugar and Carb Coma!!!  Guess I'll be bringing my own supplies as well.  As far as dinner is concerned I plan on getting in my PROTEIN first and then a tiny bite of many other things (mostly veggies).

One thing is for sure, it will be interesting!  I'm ready to hear "is that ALL you can eat" several times over.

LOL!!!!  Okay, so I'll say GOOD GOD right backatcha!!!  Bagels, biscotti & munchies - OH MY!!!  It can be very frustrating, but you're stronger than a bagel, I just know it!!  Take some s/f candy canes with you (yes, they make them), and your idea of the crustless pies and veggies is a great idea.  Don't worry, if you haven't seen the whole family in a while, you'll be too busy fending off the compliments to eat much!!!

Another hint - buy some holiday flavored teas - there are some awesome ones out there!!!  When everyone else is putting themselves in the carb coma, drink your hot tea with a protein shake creamer!!  I know, I know, it's not the same, but you had the surgery so YOU could be a different, healthier you!!!

Hang in there!!!!

Hugs,

Tia

I KNOW!!!  I swear my Mom, who has adult onset diabetes by the way, just keeps going more and more overboard with the sweets.  Not just for Thanksgiving and Christmas either.  You should see the HUGE community basket at Easter.  But I'm really not worried about being tempted.  I get nauseated at the thought of some of those things now anyways.  As long as I have my tea, s/f hot chocolate, and protein rich foods...I'm good.

It will be an awesome holiday because you are going tobe eating healthy. My first Thanksgiving dinner after surgery. I got full just looking at all that food on the table. It took me forever to eat a small plate but I got to sample a bite of my favorites and I was more than satisfied.

Hey Tia,

My first Thanksgiving dinner I got so full just looking at the entire table full of foods.  It took me forever to finish my plate and I was more than satisfied. I got to take a bite of my favorite foods and it was more than enough for me.  Everyone was in shock and they continuously asked me if I didn't like the food. I said I loved it I just could not fit it all in there. lol

It really did not bother me at all. I think it bothered everyone else that I was not eating much when their plates looked like mini mountains.

Hey guess what????????
We might be getting some snow today. I am waiting to hear where in WV Gianna and Gino Jr are histerical waiting to take out their toboggans. lol

Thanks for posting this wonderful and informative post.

Well, you know me - I'm wonderful AND informative!!!  LOL!!!

Right there with you - I remember being so overwhelmed by the sights and smells of all the food.  In fact, the night before, my brother had a dream that all I could eat was a spoonful of peas and stuffing!!  LOL!!!  I assured him that if I could only eat 2 spoons of something - one of them definitely wasn't going to be peas!!!!!

Awww....no fair!!!  I want flurries.  Nothing more, just some flurries!!!

Tell them to wear their pj's inside out tonight - urban legend has it that that will help school be closed due to snow!!!

Hugs,

T
