Has anyone here had................
Jill, I had my surgery December 19th. How nice to actually lose during the holidays instead of gain. I was not on a liquid diet pre-op. I had planned for my "last supper" for so many months that by the time early December rolled around I really wasn't in to it. I can't even remember what I had the last few meals before my surgery...
On Christmas Eve day we (my husband) drove to Richmond - no biggie. And I had soup for Christmas eve and Christmas day as well as other liquids. I remember being tired - there are some pretty funny pictures of me sleeping on Christmas Day with about 10 kids between age 2 - age 9 running around like maniacs.

I thought the hardest part was over then we brought him home only to have him pass away a few days later. I was devastated and since then I have been twice as much of a worry wart.
Oh my goodness Jilly I can't imagine the pain you went through. I can understand your apprehension.
Big hugs to you!

Thanks Cira ;o****pt telling my husband this morning that I was sooooooo scared and he would say "Why Jill...the surgery will be the EASY PART" He keeps telling me the hard part will be sticking to the rules and getting on track. My big fear is the actual surgery. I hope these feelings go away soon. Thanks for being there. ;o) ~Jilly~
I'm am being banded on 12/11/08 and I go on my liquid diet on Nov. 20th. I think i am going to hate it but I have to make sure I make it work. I'm not nervous yet and I am going to do the best I can on the diet. I hear that Opti-fast really sucks on taste. I will not drink it with water I know that sucks I tried it with my whey protein and it was not good. Anyway you can do it just believe in yourself thats what I am going to do, whatever you do Believe and quit thinking the worse you don't deserve that what you do deserve is to become a butterfly after your surgery. Good Luck.
I am scheduled for December 16 and am feeling the same way as you have described. What keeps me going mentally is the idea of the weight I hope to shed being the most wonderful gift I can give myself this Christmas. I too hope that I can stay focused this next month and try to drop some lbs. before sugery, I have not been doing so great in that department and I worry about the liver thing during surgery. Let us stay positive that everything with God's assistance will be OK!
