OK Gang I'm a bit bored today and have been thinking ( I know scary thought!)
Whats your favorive/biggest wow moment.
I know they never stop for me but I'm curious to see what everyones favorites are.

I'll start this and say mine would have to be going PARASAILING not once but twice.

So whats your?

You are right Darla, there are too many to count. However (and this is no surprise to many of you), mine would have to be kayaking.  My first experience when I took a kayaking lesson was the most emotional experience. I blogged about this here - http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/debsl/blog_page,2/. Since then, I have done this several times. Most of this was in preparation for my October trip to the FL Keys. Here is a pic of me from that trip for those who have not already seen it - http://www.obesityhelp.com/photos/uzone,photos/action,galler y/albumId,61436/curPhoto,376758/.

All of my friends and I wore a special t-shirt while in FL. If was a picture of a kayaker with the words "Life is Good". I think that about sums it up!

Hi Darla,

I haven't done anything too exciting except jumping on the trampoline with my kids.  It was something I could never do with my kids. But i am not sharing the pics since I had my bat wings all out in the oopen. lol

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

But Cira, that is exciting because it was a meaningful moment for you! I get warm/fuzzies just thinking about how special that moment must have been!

Hmmm, yep, too many to count, but I guess my FAVORITE wow moment was finding out that I could get pregnant naturally without all the fertility drugs I needed for nine years trying to conceive Kylie.  That one by far outweighs all the other ones like fitting in a restaurant booth, flying comfortably, steering wheel not rubbing my belly, wearing heels comfortably, shopping in the Misses section rather than PLUS - which was a slap in the face for so long those nine years because it is conveniently next to maternity clothing, etc, etc, etc....

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...

I am going to take the 'easy' way out and say the ability to do and enjoy life!   Not be held back by anything.   5 years ago I was very close to becoming a recluse .. going to work and home and giving up on doing anything else outside of the house, now you have to tie me down to keep me home.

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

This is so exciting hearing all of your WOW's.  I'm sure hoping that sometime next year I'll be able to add my own, esp being able to sit on an airplane without 'spill over' into the next seat, or wondering if the seat belt will fit.

KUDOS to each and every one of you!

Angie:

I had not flown in over 10 years because I didn't like having to ask for a seat belt extender-
Sept. 7th this year I bit the bullet and sat down in a seat and was praying the belt would click:
Kathy T was on hand to click the picture of me with tears in my eyes when it clicked shut
with belt to spare-  Ask Tia I texted her at the unGodly hour of 7:30 am on a sunday morning
LOL

I started the post yesterday thinking it would give preops something to look forward
to :  as Heather and others said the WOW moments come in all shapes and sizes-
early out and months or a year later.  I look forward to seeing you post your wow moments
don't worry your day will come!!!!

Well gang after losing 200 lbs the past two years has been full of WOW moments.  One I can remember is when I got my blood pressure taken and they didn't have to leave the room to get the "BIG" cuff.  They can use a normal person cuff now.  Little things mean so much.  My husband and I recently went to a water park and I not only spent the whole day walking around the park in my bathing suit but I put my  butt (with no trouble) in an inner-tube and rode those darn water slides like a pro.  We had so much fun.  So like Mo said the biggest WOW moment is getting out and joining in and getting the most out of life.   With this tool we have been given our lives back.      And that is finally what were doing, liviing our lives.
