This afternoon I was sitting her reading and reading OH and the phone rang.  It was Dr. Steele's office to tell me that my surgery date as been moved.  I'm still stunned.  It's now going to be Nov. 18th!!!  I almost can't type that with out feeling like someone else is typing it!!! I thought I had time, I have questions, now I can't think of a one...questions that I was going to have plenty of time to write down and think about.  But I know I'm ready.  Ready to do this, the timing is now much better for my work, and my husband's work.

YEAH!!!!!   OMG....I'm still just shaking my head!

OH, I don't know if I'll make it to the Christmas lunch, you think I'll feel like going that soon?

First - Congratulations! The new date is very exciting!

Second - You might physically feel like going out by the date of the luncheon, but your menu options might still be limited. The rate at which people recover post-op seems to vary. Some people bounce back very quickly and others need more time to feel up to doing things.

WOO HOO - how exciting!

You may feel fine to come to the luncheon.  Whether you can eat anything may be a different question.  So, bring something to drink and enjoy the camaraderie.

You are a lucky girl

Thanks to each of you.

I have everything set up for the pre-op now.

I guess I'd better be thinking about getting some supplies layed in.  But after reading so much here I guess I won't know what I can tolerate until I try it.   I need to re-read all my instructions on what and when I'm supposed to do things.  I'm not messing this up for anything.  I don't want to do anything wrong.

More later,

Wooooo hoooooooooooo CONGRATULATIONS!

That is wonderful news and soon you will be right here celebrating your rebirth in just 13 short days.

Everyone heals differently so all I can say is wait until then and if you feel up to it go.

Take care and best wishes!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

woo hoo!  That is great!  I think you may feel up to the brunch in December since it's 2.5 weeks after your surgery.  You can order something smooth like soup or a cheese omelette.  I was able to go out to a lunch the 18th of october after my surgery the 2nd, and I just had soup and enjoyed the socializing.  I went back to work after 2 weeks.  of course everyone is different, but i wanted to chime in.  Best of luck on your surgery 11/18!
