Mexico surgery
Dee,
I don't know of any here but you can try asking on the main board.
Does your medical insurance covers weight loss surgery? There are plenty of Doctors out here that does the surgery.
I would tend to think that having weight loss surgery is scary already but when you tell a spouse about going to Mexico for it might just make them refuse a lot quicker. Just my opinion.
Good luck in your journey.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Stick to a local doctor.
Weight loss surgery works best if you have a comfortable relationship with your surgeon and his/her support staff. The actual surgery is not the end of your weight loss journey...it is the beginning. You'll still need to meet with your surgeon regularly for check-ups, meet with his/her psychiatric staff, meet with his/her nutritionist, and, naturally, that is much easier to do if you have a doctor nearby.
Imagine dealing with a doctor in Mexico for regular follow-up issues, and imagine how difficult and expensive it would be. Now....compound that stress and expense if there were difficulties with your surgery. Personally, I wouldn't want to risk my health to save a few bucks on a doctor in Mexico. The financial incentive to go abroad for surgery isn't worth the compromise to your health.
If your husband says "no", he's a smart man.

Dee,
I'm not advocating that you go to Mexico; but, there is a person on the Main Board you should contact if you have questions about this. Her name is Michelle. She goes by "Eggface". She not only had her RNY there, but has had plastic surgeries there. She is a staff member on OH is very friendly and informative.
Good luck in whatever your decision may be.
