NOT ANOTHER ONE!!!!
Now there'll be more idiots *****ing about the way police funerals inconvenience the rest of us. Give me a break. I hope the driver is charged with murder.
Frederick police officer killed in crash
Driver of other vehicle involved arrested on active warrant, police said
Frederick police say a 5-year veteran of the department died after crashing his marked cruiser while trying to perform a traffic stop.
The accident happened a few minutes before midnight yesterday in the 500 block of W. South St. Police say the other vehicle refused to stop for 39-year-old Officer Richard Bremer. Dispatchers lost contact with Bremer moments later, and backup officers found Bremer's wrecked car.
Bremer suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at a regional trauma center.
Police say officers spotted the other vehicle in west Frederick, canvassed the area and found the driver at a nearby hotel. James Sweeney Jr., 51, was arrested on an active warrant.

I was reading a blog on the Baltimore Sun and some MORON was complaining about the funerals - some people agreed, but fortunately, most chewed him a new one. To ***** about being inconvenienced while a Department and family and friends bury someone who took an oath to protect us and make life better for OUR families is just so wrong on so many levels.
I get stuck in them, too, but I personally hope this one hits RIGHT at rush hour.

So sad.... but WAIT.... people actually ***** about waiting for a police funeral? WTF? They would probably be the first to ***** when they call for assistance and don't get it quickly enough too. Our officers are underpaid and underappreciated.
My gripe is when people don't pull over and clear the roadway for emergency vehicles to get thru.
Yep, there was a lot of drama over the last two funerals for the Med-Evac crew. And you're right, they're the first dirtballs to be pissed when they don't get a response in 10.2 seconds.
Although most of the people I work with now are in administrative positions, I still have friends in the field - they are, indeed, UNDERPAID, OVERWORKED AND UNDERAPPRECIATED.
And I challenge ANYONE to say otherwise!!!

Hugs,
Tia
Tia, when the medevac coptor crashed we happened to be on 695 (going the other way) during one of the processions. It was VERY emotional!!!! The K9 corp was lined up, police and ambo's were on overpasses, tons of ambo's police cars, etc. It was neat. Ethan of course thought it was the next best thing to a parade but I was just totally WOWED by it. Did it set us back 45 minutes?? - yes. But was it an incredible site and tribute - all I can say was wow.
I read those letters to the editors - pretty heartless.
