19hrs and counting

in 19 hrs i will be on the operating room table having hernia repair and the lap band.  cant say iam not scared along with a lot of other emotions. has anyone else has hernia repair along with the lap band, what do i have to look forward to?

i ask for all of your prayers and cant wait to join all of u on the losers bench!!!!!

no iam going to preston memorial hospital in kingwood, as far as i know there isn't anyone doing weight loss surg in morgantown.  dr akarry was at ruby but they treated him horrible so he left and went to preston.  he is doing very well and has done hundreds of surg.

Yes, I had lapband and a hernia repair for a hernia I didn't even know I had last January.  Couldn't even tell anything extra had been done.  Just had to deal with the gas.  You'll do fine.  Keep us posted.

What kind of hernia?  I have a hiatal hernia and I think the doc with fix it if I go for a band over my bypass. 

Yes I had a hernia repair while getting the lapband!!! I found out when I woke up I had a hernia!! but with all that said I was only on pain med for 3 days and back to work that follwing Monday!! I had it done while on Thanksgiving break. You will be fine I was so scared I pray and that all I remember!! May God grace protect you. And we see u soon on the loser bench!! Guess what I have never had a fill!!! I dont no maybe the hernia has something to do with that I down 50 pounds:)

I had a hiatal hernia that I did not know about when I was getting my lap band 12 days ago.  The worst part for me was the pain in my shoulder which was caused from gas and transfer pain from the hernia.  It has gotten progressively better and I don't even notice it anymore.  That was it as far as the hernia was concerned.  All in all, it hasn't been bad!  Good luck and prayers headed your way!
