I am so glad I saw you on here this morning. I was wondering if you could tell me about your rny experience? I am thinking about a revision from the band to rny. I have heard people say they get dizzy and feel faint after having the rny. I know everyone is different but it would be great if you could give me a little of your experience? Are you happy with it? Would you do it all again? Did you lose hair? Thank you so much for your time!!!

Hi Lori,
To be honest....the only time that I remember getting dizzy was when I had a problem with my blood sugar dropping. Then I started carrying a protein bar in my purse and when i felt that coming on it would take a bite of it and it would go away. As for the hair loss....everyone who has WLS no matter which one that they chose lose hair. I am very happy with my choice to have RNY. In the first 11 months after my WLS I had lost 140 lbs and that is from the time I started my pre op diet and exercise for my insurance approval. Like anything else in life. You have to really watch what you are eating and make good, healthy choices or you can re-gain the weight with any of the surgeries. I pretty much eat anything that I want today at almost 6 yrs. post op. Just really watch the sugar, carbs and calories. The key to keeping the weight off is exercise, good food choices and watching portion sizes. Good luck in whatever decision you make for a WLS.
