PAYING CASH FOR LAPBAND IN KY LEX
Becky, when checking out the band make sure you ask what is included in the price. I do know for a fact that many centers will charge you per fill, or the price will include the first 6 months, etc. What you don't want in hidden cost later down the road.
I was told the price at Georgetown (Dr. Weiss and Dr. Oldham) covers life time follow up.
again be sure to ask the right questions!
Brenda
The office at the Bluegrass Bariatric Surgical Associates in Georgetown has brochures from a company (not affiliated with the doctors) that will finance the surgery. I believe the first two years have some sort of interest free offer, but don't quote me on it, because I have never really looked at that info carefully.
I was a self pay in Feb. 2005 and all my fills are now covered. No co-pay, no deductible, no more payments of any kind. Some docs offices can charge $250 or more for a fill, so be sure to find out about that aspect of it before you go to the clinic in Louisville for your surgery. Why not just go 18 miles up the road to Georgetown? Made sense to me. Plus the support there is absolutely the greatest.
Hello Becky
My sister had her lap band in louisville. Dr. Geller is her dr. When she had her surgery done last may is was right at $17,000. I know she got
follow up fills for a year in that price. But not sure about the check ups
after that. So you may want to ask. She is doing great by the way. Lost 70 something pounds. She is not far from Dr. Gellers goal weight for
her, but then again she wasn't 100 pounds overweight neither only like 90 something.
Good Luck
I perform the Lap-Band in Louisville. Our self-pay price is $14,900.00 for hospital fee, anesthesiologist, surgeons and assistants fee to be performed as outpatient or overnight stay. Adjustments and office visits for at least the first year are included. Most of the adjustments following surgery end up being in the first year. Preop clearance, nutrition eval and psychological eval are not included in that price. Some of these items are frequently covered by insurance even if the insurance doesn't cover the surgery.
