Someone tell me what it's like...
Can someone please give a breakdown of what it's really like to undergo a laparoscopic lap band procedure? I've finished the research part (thanks so much for your help with that Brenda!) and am pretty set on Barix Clinics and actually have my consultation on Monday. The process could go very quickly (as I hope it does) and I would like to be prepared.
So my question is for you lap-banders, what was the day or your actual procedure like? Post-op discomfort? Incision scar? etc.... I've researched as much as I can but would love to hear realistic feedback from actual people.
Hi...I'd like to suggest you post also to the lap band forum here at obesityhelp - it's a very active and friendly board and I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses to your questions. You can find it by clicking forums up top in the yellow bar and then choose Lap Band from the Surgery Types drop down menu. Best of luck in your endeavors! And you are MOST welcome to continue posting on the mainboard as well - just that you'll find more of those with your surgery type on the other forum.

I just had my lapband on Wednesday. All I can say is that when I went to OR I remember starting to pray and then I woke up in PACU. I didn't feel a thing. I wasn't really in any pain the first two days when I had the pain pump. I had more yesterday in the port sight but I still went to a basketball game, so I couldn't say it was awful. If this is what you want you should have no reservations about the surgery or the post op. It was pretty easy. I also have to say I have not been hungry since.
