Has anyone here used Dr. Nease? I am searching for a surgeon and would love info. on him. If you could tell me which surgery you had? Was it a good experience? Anything you would like to tell me about him pre-op or post-op would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, Melissa

I had my surgery with Dr. Nease on Sept. 12, 2005. I really like him. He really makes sure you are educated about the changes you will have to go through and what this surgery is and isn't. I researched his medical liscense with both California and West Virginia and couldn't find anything bad against him. All of his staff is wonderful. They will make sure you get answers to any questions you have. I emailed his patient care coordinator a lot with questions and always got prompt replies. They really seem to care about their patients instead of like some other surgeons I have heard of. I traveled 75 miles one way to have this surgery done by him. I had my surgery done at Cabel Huntington Hospital in WVa. And it was the best hospital I have every been in. I have been in 8 different hospitals and this one is by far the best as far as care and treatment of patients. They are really educated in making the patient feel at ease and making obese patients feel comfortable. Most of their hospital furniture, beds, and stuff are made for those of use who are larger. If you have any questions for me just email me and I will be happy to answer. Cyndie

Melissa I don't think that you could find a better and more compassionate doctor than he is. I had my surgery on August 1, 2005, I have lost 100lbs to date, and I feel wonderful. When I went in for my surgery at 8:00am, I was ready and willing, the more I lay there, the more worried I got. Dr. Nease was in surgery with his first patient. I was ready to leave more times than one. I set a time, a rather odd time, 2:37pm, if dr. nease wasnt out by then, i was leaving, my nerves were shot. the anesthesiologist came in, told me the surgery was going to take maybe 8 hours, i would have to have it opened cause of 2 previous c-sections, it scared the daylights out of me. i was definetely going home. the time was 2:33pm, dr nease comes in, 4 mins to spare, he talks to me, tells me that its up to me, to think about it just a lil while if i needed to, he told the nurse to give me something for my nerves, but after i talked with him, i knew that this was what was meant to be done. it was a monday, I was out on wednesday, back to work the next wednesday, doing great ever since. I don't have medical insurance now, and he helped slim my costs with the lab work, by not ordering everything, just the necessary things. Dr. Nease changed my life, before, my 14yr old son, didnt play sports, cause i was too tired to take him to the practices and games, now, u will find me in the stands at the football stadium, or in the bleachers at the basketball games. you might even see me being warned by the refs to settle down, or be thrown out, (that was a one time thing). I wouldnt have done that before, i would have never backtalked a ref, for not calling a rough game, i would have been too embarrassed. My 14 yr old also said that he can see the change in my attitude, he said "i dont act like a b(word) anymore". he didnt say the word, but i got his meaning, lol. he was right though, i was very hateful, because i was just so tired, and disgusted with myself. Im happy now, people look at me differently, i guess theres a new essence about me. Dr. Nease has changed me, in every way. his staff is exceptional, they answered questions, or emails, I sent plenty. They returned calls when i left a message and they werent in, even when i was in the hospital room, i was getting up by myself going to the restroom, my phone rings, im in the restroom, my husband was calling, he couldnt get me, he calls Tabitha, she comes to my room, to check on me, because i didnt answer the phone. The staff at Cabell is wonderful, very caring. If I had to do it over I wouldnt choose a different doctor or hospital. Sabrina
