Update on plz pray for our son...:)
I posted yesterday about our 12 yr old son having pressure, water on his brain and asked u all to pray for him..The pediatric neurologist he sees just called and said he does have some water, pressure on his brain. She thinks it could be his thyroid (his real mom has thyroid problems), she is having some blood work done tomorrow and then maybe a spinal tap. She told Adam, my hubby, that its nothing life threatening and is more than likely because James is morbidly obese. I have tried repeatedly to keep him on a diet. But he is only with us every other weekend, spring break and summer. His mom will not keep him on a diet or help us with that at all. Adam and I have decided that if it turns out that this is caused by his weight and his mom doesn't make any effort to take him to their family dr, have him put on a diet, make sure he sticks to that diet, we are going to get primary custody and have him live up here. He lives in Tn with her and we're way up here so when he's down there we have no idea whats going on at all. At least up here we can make sure he sticks to his diet. I am thankful that its nothing any worse, thank u Lord, thank u Lord! Thank God for His Blessings.
Thank u all for your prayers and support!

On the main boards something was said about us wanting to take custody so I posted this to clarify that.
We are in no way planning a major custody suit. We know James loves his mom and we respect that. The only way we would take custody of him is if she doesn't try to keep him on a diet. By try, I mean purchasing healthier foods, (we pay her enough child support to help with this) and by trying to help him make better decisions. I know that he is 12 and that not only him, but its hard for anyone to be on a diet. I know this because sometimes its hard for me to make good eating decisions but I do. Its hard on anyone. I apologize for giving the impression that we would do anything that would cause more harm than good. All we want is for him to be healthy and happy. As long as she trys to help him with this, thats all we can ask.
Thank u

I am so happy for you and your family that it wasn't life threatening. I have also put my niece on a healthier diet. She is not much of an active child, so I get her outside to play tennis or jump rope. I am morbidly obese, and she just loves it that I am able to play tennis and jump rope.
Thank u...James played softball last spring and I hope his mom allows him to play again. He lives so far away its hard for us to get him into sports. We only have him every other weekend...I have a gazelle he uses and I am getting a ab lounger soon and a treadmill. He also loves to swim when the weather permits, so if we can just get him used to making better eating decisions we will be doing good..
