Northern Kentucky Support Groups

Hello Everyone, I was curious if you could tell me if there are local support groups in the Northern Kentucky Area. I have had the surgery but I like to be with others to discuss what works and doesn't work. Thanks, Dave Hebron

Dave, I haven't been to either of these groups yet because I just had surgery in November but there is a group that meets at the Silver Lake Sports club and then there is one in Cincinnati that is the Butterfly Network. ... hello Melissa..... just jumped on here today and noticed this post since you all are sooo close to home.. ... I hope everything is well with you. I see you just had your surgery not long ago.. I had mine on 05/05/04 and doing FABULOUS... ... and know that very soon you will be there to... shoot.. I'm sure you are already feeling fabulous.... i know each morning I would wake up and just feel skinnier and skinnier.... gotta love THAT... Hi Dave, My surgery isn't scheduled till Feb 2006 but I am attending the support groups through my doctor's office at the Deaconess Weight Loss Center.

Hello Marcellia... .... I'm sooo happy that I popped onto the KY Board today and found this Northern KY post... ..... I see that your surgery is going to be in February.... you will be in my thoughts and prayers... I had my surgery on 05/05/04 and have done and still doing wonderful. I started out at 268 and now weigh in between 145/148. Hello Dave.... I had my surgery 05/05/04 thru UC. I rarely attend their group as it is up in OHIO. I have heard of the Butteryfly Network but have not participated there. I use this web-site and BOARDS as my support. I frequent the Single Board ALOT... ... and have made good friends there. I just thought I would pop in on KY and saw your post and was suprise to see another Northern Kentucky person.... So feel free to correspond back or email if you would like to chat.... noticed that your profile is pretty empty... how long has it been since your surgery and where did you have it??? Rhonda

Silverlake Recreation Center is in Erlanger Ky. You should be able to look it up and call. It was my understanding that that group was only for Dr. Smith's patients. I may be wrong. This recreation center is great but a little pricie. It has workout room a water aerobics pool. They have a lot to offer but they do have meetings there and you don't have to be a member. Hope this helps

Silverlake is located off of Dixie Highway in Erlanger, Kentucky. The street it is on is called Kenton Landis Drive. The phone number is: 859-426-7777. I belong to the gym and my membership cost me less then $50 a month. If you want a trial period, they will give you 10 visits free. Of course they will try and get you to buy a membership, but you might want to try that free trial before you commit.
