Hi, Does anyone have medicare and passport and have them pay for protein supplements(unjury) and if so what did you have to do to get it approved? Thanks, Jeri

I don't think it will pay. It wouldn't even pay for my adult son to have Ensure when the doc prescribed it three times a day. But, there are ways to make protein shakes without unjury and using your food stamps if you have them. have seen people posting on using food stamps to get milk and adding powdered milk to it for double protein. Of course, you can add your flavors to that also.

You can also try sugar free carnation instant breakfast. I use the Kroger brand which actually has more protein than the CIB brand. Wal-mart and Kroger both carry powdered protein supplements that are cheaper than what you can order over the Internet. I haven't tried them so I'm not sure about taste. As Delores said you could add powdered milk to boost the protein. If your surgeons office has a nutritionist, you can probably work with him/her to make sure you get in adequate protein on a budget.
