In search of a Surgeon!!

Hey, im looking for a GREAT Dr. to do my surgery. Can anyone recommend one in the Kentucky area?

Hi, I am not too sure if u r close to Louisville or not but in my opinion, Mark Shina and Suburban Hospital are the greatest!!! Dr Shina is a nice man but he is a strict Dr. I had surgery with him on March 24 and am down 118 pounds. He and his staff are there for u anytime u need them. He has a great aftercare program. Alot of people say he's not very personable and I was kind of scared of that before my seminar and consult with him, but at the seminar and consult I found him to be nice, funny, willing to sit however long it took to answer questions, he is also very blunt about surgery and the risks. When I was searching for a surgeon I wanted to go with the one I felt I could trust my life with and Dr Shina is that surgeon. U have to go with who ever your gut tells u that u can trust. Dr. Josh Steiner at the Center for WLS in Lexington at St. Joseph East.

I went thru Dr. Bolar in Lexington at Samaratin. Read my profile for all of the details, but I have to say that he and his staff were great. I had lap RNY on 8/4/05 and am down 66 lbs. I haven't had any significant problems and just went for my three month with a great report. Hope this Helps. Angi 301/335/-150-

Try University Associates in Louisville. You have a choice of Dr. Allen, Rodriguis, or Larson. Dr. Gaar is retiring. Shina is very good too.

Drs. Weiss an Oldham in Georgetown are wonderful. They do both lapband and RNY.

Dr. Tom Sonnanstine in Florence, Ky is awesome.
