Center of Excellance
Hi, just had to pass this news along. The lexington herald-Leader published a full page ad this week congratulating my surgeons group. The Center for Weight Loss Surgery at St. Joseph East was named last week by the American Bariatric Association (or whatever the name is) as a CENTER OF EXCELLANCE. They based the award on lots of things, one being their pre-op program, the post op program and aftercare. The long term success rate and few complications of their patients. They also mentioned something about the surgical technique and the instruments used during surgery. Much more that I can't remember. This is a major accomplishment and I am very proud of my team. I don't think anyone else in the state of Kentucky has yet achieved this award. So all you guys having doc problems or looking for a doc would be wise to check into this program.
HI DELORES HI DELORES HI DELORES Long time no see..How are you...did you read in todays paper about the suits against them.... It makes me angry..I felt I was very well informed about my risks...I feel like they just get mad that everything wasn't roses for them and take it out on people...I mean I know for a fact that you didn't sail through this surgery and I dont' see you on a suit list...I again felt I was very well informed and was willing to take the risks as well as the others...Dont get me wrong I know that they are some doctors out there that botch but I can assure you that there was no misleading and no botch with our group...I'm very sorry for the Boggs loss....Very sorry but.......the people that sue that are still alive...I don't know what I think about that...You are alive you have your life go on??? I'm not sure.... But if it hasn't been drilled in your head like it was mine.I would be very surprised..and on top of that I didn't depend on my doctors to tell me all the risks I took matters in to my own hands and researched researched researched..
hey pretty woman!!!!!!!!! I have had you on my mind. Well i did see the paper yesterday and all I can say is that when those lawyers for those people go to court, they are gonna have egg smeared all over their face. I know as far as Dr. Steiner goes, he goes over and over the risks of this surgery. the day i got my "BIBLE", he had my husband come with me and we went over every page of it and he went in great detail explaining everything that could happen and that some could even die from it. Then we BOTH had to sign a contract that we hsd been informed of all those things by him. I think some people are out for a quick buck. I, too, am sorry for the loss of the Boggs family. i don't think they were even sueing. But, like you, I also did my own research. Dr. Steiner said I was the most informed patient he had ever seen about bariatric surgery. BTW, are you going to the BASH this year? I am not after all the ruckus over last years. I do not want to be called at home and talked to like I am a lying idot again. so, I will not be going. Did you know that Amanda is out on maternity leave?
BTW, this person didn't actually say that but made me feel like that's what they thought. But we talked it thru and everything turned out alright but I am very careful what I write on here anymore. that is the number one reason I don't update my profile much. I feel i don't have liberty to express my thoughts.
Your email hasn't arrived yet. I'm glad that you were able to talk to the person about it. It bothers me when I hear of others being critical of their peers. Mutual support is so important through this journey! It's too bad that you feel restricted in what you can say on your profile. That should be the one place where we can really "get real" about our experiences.
I didn't go last year (I was not far out from surgery) but I heard that it was quite the bash. LOL I would have liked to have gone this year, but on second thought, maybe I shouldn't. I have little tolerance for people who are not nice!
