Can any of Dr Argotte's patients help me??

Hi!! I dont post very often but i am a lurker and I am just waiting on insurance approval so i can go to see Dr Argotte, so in the mean time I have been reading all of the posts from his patients and i am a little confused. I have read in some profiles that he requires people to lose weight before surgery and some people dont, can someone tell me why and if they had to did it delay your surgery. Thank you very much in advance, I need all the information i can get. Nanette

Yup, it is only to shrink the liver so it isn't in the way during surgery. It isn't about losing weight. Good Luck, Tina

Nanette Hello my name is beth and just wanted to ish you the best of luck with getting approved and having G-bypass I had mine a lil over 2 yrs ago and have lost 130pds and have maintained my weight.For over a yr now. Dr A is my dr and I just think he is the best.I have not posted in long time just been so busy with new life now but had time today to come and like the otherposts said it is to shrink your liver why he has you to lose weight b-4 the operation check things out take Care Huggs Beth
