Out of State Surgery
Hi Lateesha,
Yes, I live in Missouri, and had to go to Kentucky to have my surgery. I'm now so happy that I did, as I have a wonderful surgeon Dr. Alex Argotte. He is very cautious, and does not take any chances. I can't give him enough praise. He is located in Mayfield Ky. but is opening a new office in Paducah Ky. He does surgery at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah Ky. I promise you that you would love him. Best of luck to you.

It depends on your insurance.
I have operated on persons from several different states including all surrounding states and 2-3 states away. I recommend that locally is usually best if there is a surgeon that is highly qualified and has a good follow up program. Access to your surgeon over the first several years and lifetime is very important.
Good Luck,

I had surgery in Tn but transferred to a Surgeon here in Ky for all my follow-up. I would have had him do the surgery but did not know that he was doing them at the time. It is hard for your family and all the pre and post op visits when you are far away. In my case I developed pnemonia and my dr was 3 1/2 hrs away and here I was in an ambulance going to a hospital where they had no idea what was done and no records,Thanks but no thanks /i got me a local Dr. that has all my records and if I need him he's there in a heartbeat.
