Pool Party Saturday, June 30th 11-3 or 4 or 5

Hello all, The kids and I spent ALL weekend either in our pool, on the slip-n-slide, or at the Y in their pool.  My skin is done for the week.  But, it did get me to thinking that I need to figure out what I'm doing for the Pool Party. So, I know most of you don't know me very well, but my parties tend to usually have a 'theme'.  I know this isn't too original, but since it is right before the 4th of July, I've decided on an Americana theme; red, white and blue.  Let's make it a pitch-in since I know you guys all love to show off your newest dishes. In honor of that theme, I will be making a large crock pot of 'white' chili and I'll fill in with lots of extras once I know who and how many are coming and what everyone else might bring.  Of course I'll make the peanut butter cookies.  Mmmm, can I make PB cookies red or blue???? Just respond and let me know if you are planning on coming and what you might bring and I'll take care of the rest.  I'll have the slop-n-slide (no typo here, have you seen what they do to a yard!!!) so, if anyone wants to give that a try, be my guest.   Anyone have a water volleyball net???  The width of the pool at the point of the pole holes is about 16', but we could roll it up if it is wider.  I have the beach balls.  And I'll get some more noodles before then.  Bring your water shooters too...............if you dare ;)

You might want to bring an outdoor chair or two.  I have two loungers and 7 other chairs, but that might not be enough.  There is built in seating on the deck, but the deck gets REALLY hot since it faces the west. Ouch!!  Also, bring plenty of towels and sunscreen.  Pray for a hot sunny day. Tania

Im looking forward to it.  I wore Sam's bathing suit all weekend.  We took a few rides in the convertable up to the Menards in Anderson so that was all the sun I got.  I dont know what I'll be making yet.   I'll have to think about that one Update on me: I still have my poison ivy.  My right eye is swollen and my ear, I have it all over my body, all 4 limbs and Im miserable with all the itching.  Then Sat on my way to the new house to do some painting and a man hit me and really messed up my car.  He was in front of me.....decided to do a U turn without looking to see I was behind him.  He hit me broadside on the passanger side.  Sent my new kitty flying onto the floor with 2 gallons of paint.  Neither of us was hurt but none of the doors on the passanger side of the car can be opened.  Guess I'll spend the week getting estimates so I can get it fixed.  Im sure hoping the dont total it out.

Im back home tonight and I have to go to work.  Ive been off for 4 nights so Im dreading going back.    Hope u all have a great week

OMG!  I'm so sorry.  I must have missed some posts somewhere.  I didn't know about your bad poison ivy.  That can be a mess.  Please watch it carefully.  A good friend of mine got cellulitis from it, so watch out for that.  Has your doctor tried steroids yet?  If not, that's the only way I got rid of mine a couple of years ago.God has a sense of humor with me.  I got it BAD after I poopooed my Mom for pointing out all the poison ivy on a trail the kids and I were walking on.  Sure enough, a week later itch, itch, seep, itch.  And the kids, who she was concerned about, got nothing ;) I sure hope you get to feeling better and it clears up soon.  I'm really looking forward to seeing you again and I'm really sorry I didn't get to the pottery shop to get your flower pot.  I'm glad Vicki was able to get it for you. BTW Folks, I do have a few spare suits (a couple of 24W and a 22W) if you don't have one AND bring a suit!!!  Even if you leave it in the car at first.  I can't tell you how many times I've had parties and people have thought "No way I'm getting in a swimming suit" and within a couple of hours they wished they had brought theirs.

Ive been on predinsone for a week and its only getting worse.  I think Im going to have to go to the dr tomorrow.  I dont think Im absorbing the meds.  Then I take the liquid benadryl and it helps some with all the itching but makes me sleep all the time.

As for the cellulitis.  I think I already have it.  Its on my right leg behind my knee...huge red welt and on the front of the left inner elbow area....my right eye is one huge welt as well.  The rest of my body is the regular old blisters all over.... The itching is driving me out of my mind tonight.

Where are you at from Terre Haute? I won't be working that day, and might be able to come! Linda Vicory

Wish I could come my dear i will be going to french lick casino on an outing with friends and family... have a great time everyone and someone do a huge cannonball for me!!!

I haven't been to any events since I was more or less a lurker.  Everyone seems so nice and friendly and I would love to get to know you all better.  The party sounds like an ideal place to start.  Count me in.  With eggs being a source of protein, could I bring deviled eggs?  I can pack them on an ice tray to keep them cold during the party. I'm looking forward to seeing you all "in person". Julie

we look forward to seeing everyone. bring your sunglasses tho jim has really white legs but loves to swim, as do i . and yes i will even get in a swim suit. not sure what i will bring but i will make it yummy and sugar free. will also bring a case of water iced down in our cooler. if there is anything else you would like help with let me know vicki

Tania.....Count us in.  We have been waiting for this since Sherri's tub and tea.  Can't wait to see everyone again.  I will bring stuff but don't know what yet.  Once people start responding could you put out a list of what you know is being brought and about how many people?  That will help me decide what to make/bring.  I will bring some decaf iced tea since everyone will want to stay hydrated.  If anyone would like an iced latte` let me know and I can bring the ingredients.  Patriotic is my favorite theme so that's a bonus for me.  See you in a couple weeks.
