I have developed this really bad pain in my left hand side. I was healing up nicely until yesterdaywhen this really sharp pain started. everytime I sit up or stand up it is a burning searing pain... I called the nurse at the weightlos center and she told me to take some pain meds. Have of you had this? do you think I should go the ER?

Have you tried the pain meds? The only "pain" i had post op was some gas pains the first few days home. My drain started bothering me after a few days and I started feeling slowly crappier everyday until it came out. Try the pain meds like the nurse said, and if that doesnt help, trust your instincts and go to the ER if you think you need it.

I tried the liquid loratab they gave me and it makes me throw up so I tried tyleno l and neither seemed to help

Mendi, As they said, it could be gas or it could be that your insides are healing. Keep trying to get the meds. down,& if it still continues after you get the meds. down, I'd call the Drs. again,'K? (((hugs & hang in there))) Ellen

Mindi, If it's near that big incision it's probably that it's healing... i started getting those about 1-2 weeks out... like when you stand up it's a stabbing pain and when you sit down... it's like the nerves growing back together or something and my pain meds didn't get rid of it for me either... but it doesn't last long dear.
