How Long do weight lose stalls last?
I have gone 10 days without a single pound coming off. I am walking more and going to NIFS to work out 2 days a week and have not changed my eating habits.
I had surgery 4-13-07 and have lost 100 lbs and have stayed at tha level for the last 10 days.
I drink 128 ounces or more of water all day.
My wife says I am converting fat to muscle. I would like to lose 40 lbs by Nov 1st but at this rate I will never make it..
A true platau lasts +6 weeks.
To jump start weight loss, increase one or more of PEW: Protein Exercise Water. Also, change your exercise around some..work new muscles.
Your wife does have a good point. Remember the trick question: What weighs more...a pound of feathers or a pound of brick? Of course, the answer is a pound equals a pound so they both WEIGH the same...however, the feathers take up more space. Fat is like the feathers..fluffy & takes up alot of space. Muscle on the hand is very condensed like brick. So...a pound of muscle may weigh the same as a pound of fat..but it takes up less space. I would suggest your measuring yourself once a week..neck, chest, waist, hips, thighs, biceps. Often, when you don't see the scales go down, you will see the difference in the tape measurement instead. When it comes to weight loss, size DOES matter! Are your clothes getting looser?
Once your muscles have a chance to catch up to the new you, you'll start losing pounds again. Just be sure to get in your protein as well as the water & exercise. Need all three!

A TRUE STALL ISNT TILL YOU HAVENT LOST FOR 3-5 WEEKS AND IF YOU ARE DOING ALL THE EXERCISING THEN YOUR WIFE IS CORRECT YOU SHOULD NOTICE INCHES GOING BUT NOT POUNDS AS MUCSLE WEIGHS MORE THEN FAT. IF YOU LOOK ON SHERRIES PROFILE YOU WILL SEE A STALL BUSTER TRY THAT.
I GO A WEEK AND NOT A POUND COMES OFF BUT THEN THE NEXT WEEK SEEMS LIKE 10-14 COMES OFF. ITS STRANGE BUT HEY ITS ALL GOOD.

The one thing I have not done is keep track on inches.
Probably shpuld start now.

I have not used any added protein powder for the last 2 months. Dr. Jones said I didn't need it. I have some and will add it to what I cook and see what happens.
