Am I being to hard on my Docs office
I saw Dr Inman on the 13th of July. I met someone from her office at that appointment. They told me they were going to take my file get it together and send it out. Yeah! I decided to call on the 19th to my doc office to see how things were going. I was told oh we haven't recieved your file from the center yet. What! I get a letter from her the next day stating they recieved it and they are going to get a letter typed up and send it out. Great ! that makes it being sent out on or about the 20th. SO I am waiting then I recieve a letter from them on the 2nd stating they just sent out my info. What! SO I call my insurance company and they told me they just recieved the packet on the 1st. From the letter I am guessing they just sent a letter from the surgeon asking for the surgery and the need for the surgery. Because my insurance stated everything that I need for the surgery that wasn't included in the packet which was everything! Psyc eval. 12 months of dieting, Ect. I don't know what is going on. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and if things aren't in order I think i am going to find another DOC.
am I being to hard on them its almost been a month?

Too often the person answering the phone and the person who processes your paperwork are two different people and one does not know what the other is doing, but only reading from your chart. Ask who is responsible for the processing and then try to speak only to that person. Soon you will know all of the people in your "network" on a first name basis.
Don't switch horses in the middle of this stream, it will only delay the process.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
I had the same problem with mine and i had to call and like annette said i got to know everyone by name... it helps when you know them and speak directly to them. My dr's office had my paperwork for 1 month before hand and then they didn't send in of the extra stuff my ins required and i had to send it all again... it's a fight definitely but one worth fighting
I'm new on this board, but have been researching the whole insurance approval process.
It may be a good idea for you to get a case manager or designated contact person at your insurance company. That way, you have someone who will always know the status of your claim, what's been sent in, what's pending, etc. For example, my insurance is Humana and they have a Bariatric Services Management team. I called them to discuss the pre-certification process, and they assigned someone to assist me. Now my surgeon's office will know exactly to whom they should send things, and I have just one person to deal with at Humana. As I get going with the surgeon's office (first consult is next week), I will try to find one contact there to work with.
Be patient. It's summer and probably people take vacation (just like you and me!) and maybe that slowed them down. Anyways, if you start over now, you'll just as likely go through a similar wait with another office.
Good luck!
