Well..back from Indiana Beach. Let me tell you guys, we had more fun here than ANYWHERE so far!! We could have stayed 3-4 days easily! Usually on the morning that we break camp, we can't wait to get on the road. This time, we just relaxed and walked around the campgrounds. We left ~11:30...our normal is closer to 8:30! We are even talking about getting a season pass for next year and go there often! The IB campgrounds were very nice and so much to do! They have waterslides, minature golf, batting cages, basketball, kiddie train rides, a big video game building, a snack shop, a camp store, 2 play grounds, boat docks, ferry boat & tram (to get to IB....free), access to lake to fish. Not to mention, a HUGE amount of tent & RV sites. Our location was fantastic. IB itself...with staying at the campground, the admission was free (and of course, no parking cost). If you didn't stay there, it was only $2.50 to get in. While in, you can take in the pirate/ski/diving show for free. At a small cost, there are 30 minute or 75 minute rides on the Shafer Queen (we did both). You can buy tickets (POP...Pay OnePrice) that covers most of the other rides. We really enjoyed the skylift! And of course, had to ride the Cornball Express! LOL! Unlike alot of wooden coasters, this one didn't beat us up at all. We also rode what they called a water coaster. It was more like a water slide...but that's ok. We really enjoyed it no matter what they want to say it is...lol. We also had a very good dinner in the Skyroom. Excellent food! If you are watching your budget a little bit more, the food stands aren't outrageous like the others have been. It was $4.50 for an Italian sausage (we split one and it was delish!) & $1.80 for a bottle of water. At the other places we've been to has been closer to $8-12 for a crappy tasting burger and $3-4 for the same size of water....only IB's was Desanti and the others were generic! So...so far...our own Indiana Beach has our vote! Sherri

Sherri,  Sounds like you had a terriffic time! PM me the name of the campgorund- it sounds like something we'd like!! We usually don't head out till 11am. if we are in Ind. partly because we are late sleepers and also we like to spend as much time as we can camping/lazing around. It sounds like the campground was wonderful!! Maybe I can talk Dana into going there sometime! Since I did my firs****erslide/tubing this yr. I'm ready for more! I love the Schafer Queen- go****'s been problably 30+ yrs. since we've gone there- I bet it has totally changed  !!      Just think- it won't be long till we are having fun  camping in Middlebury! (((hugs))) Ellen

Ellen, We stayed at the Indiana Beach Campground. It's right accross the road from Indiana Beach. You can make reservations online. I told Bill that I thought you two would love it there...especially since Dana could fish..lol. We plan on going back several times next year, Sherri

We go to Indiana Beach every year... I LOVE that place. We usually bring in sandwiches and a cooler of our own drinks (store them in the picnic area) and then right before they close we go to the Skyroom for something special (dessert, sandwich, whatever... ). This last year we hardly left the water area. I expect next year we'll barely leave the kiddie water area if the grandma's have anything to say about it. I'm glad you really enjoyed yourself there. It really is a great place for a reasonable price. Jodi

Sherri, It sounds like you have a great weekend! I am partial to Indiana beach as I grew up in Monticello and my parents still live there. Back in the "old" days that is where we learned to swim as kids :o) They took us by busloads and we had classes in the lake. My favorite was to get some of the strips of sal****ter taffy and feed the popcorn to the large carp fish! I think Jon and I might try for a quick trip there one weekend before I go back to work to see my folks and get a good dose of "home". It is a  great place for family! Marianne
