Anyone have any suggestions on what protein drink to use?   I have been drinking Isopure, but find I don't really care for them...   I know they are 40 grams of protein per bottle but I'm finding it harder and harder to drink a bottle per day like my doctor suggests. Are there other things you guys are using that maybe taste better?    What about powders?  Are their any that don't taste bad? ~~jackie

Can you tolerate milk??? My nutritional classes the other day said take 4 cups of milk to 1 cup dry milk and mix it in the blender and u can flavor it however you want with imitation flavors or sugar free syrups and that should give you the amount of protein you need

I have not tried Milk yet..  I am only 3 wks out from surgery and don't think I can have it yet.   I tried one of the protein shakes I was on prior to surgery and that gives me gas pains so I can't drink those.

You would be fine drinking the mixture suggested. It is what St. Vincent patients in Indianapolis go home drinking. EXCEPT...DON'T blend it. When you put it in the blender, it puts air into it...and that air can hurt your new pouch. Instead, put it in a bowl and use a whisk to blend it. Then let it settle at least 30 minutes so the air that the whisk put into it has a chance to go away. Flavorings... sugar-free jello mix (I preferred lemon or lime..the other flavors were too sweet!) Sugar-free Nestle Quick SF Instant carnation breakfast Any other sugar-free powder that sounds good You may also want to check into a product called Shake A Whey. It's available in Indy at Cutting Edge Nutrition (Castleton), but not GNC. Sherri

IF YOU LIKE ORANGE TRY 1 CUP OF SKIM OR 2% MILK WITH 1/3 CUP OF DRY FAT FREE POWDER AND ONE PACKET OF CRYSTAL LITE SUNRISE. IT TEASTS LIKE A DREAMCICLE I LOVED IT WHEN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS OUT. VICKI

Try pouring the Isopure over shaved ice.  I found the grape to taste like a slush from Dairy Queen.

I also like Worldwide Protein canned drinks I got at Trader Joes or GNC. The Clarian Bariatric "shake" was good too.  8 oz skim milk mixed with 1/4 c dry milk and 1 packet of Carnation SF Instant Breakfast.  Not bad...and 20 gr of protein.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions...  I have printed them all out and I'm going to call my doctor today to see if I can try the milk.  I hope so, cuz I really need to get in more protein.    thanks again ~~jackie

I tried the New Whey Protein supplements. They are 3.1 oz and 42 gms of protein. They come in a large "test tube." They come in grape and orange and fruit punch flavor. They aren't the best tasting, but I mix them with crystal light and try to get all of it down before dinner. Then you only need 20 more grams for the day--which is just 2 sippy cups of lacto free milk for me. It's do-able. Just remember, the large amounts of protein supplements aren't forever!!!
