Well, I have been having trouble with my old incision (my RUNY was 21 months ago!!!) and had  an infection all of a sudden. On the 25th of June I saw Dr. Inman and had a procedure and was told -everythings ok go- on antibotics & you'll be ok- NOT!! All of a sudden I had another "mess" while on vacation and saw Dr. Inman Thurs.- and she did another procedure (this time did an ultrasound) and found out I have undesolved stitches/knots in my stomach that have to come out! ( Kind of like a sliver that you can't get out and it keeps trying till you do.) So it looks like I'll be having outpatient surgery, as soon as she can get me in. My skin is so sensitive that I have sores from the adhesive on the bandages "eating" my skin!YIKES!!I'll sure be glad when this is over & the pain goes away.Just had to whine alittle.  (((hugs))) Ellen

Ellen, I can empathize with you, I'm still dealing with problems with my incision. I had surgery on May 21, 2007. Initalally  I healed very well when I went home from the hospital after my sm bowel obstruction I only had one very sm scab in the middle of my 11and a half in*****ision.  Well it wasn't long until it opened up then stiches popped up my dr. just pulled them out and cut them off and told me if I had anymore do the same. Well I got 3 more open areas but no more stiches.  He last week told me he thought that I was allergic to the stiching material......great. Finally the 1st 2 open areas are healed and the last ones are getting better so far no more openings on the horizon. When I asked if this meant that it would continue opening up for the full length of the scar (almost 12 inches!) he just shrugged.

Hi Ellen,

I'm glad she finally found out what was causing it.  I hope she gets you in and gets you on the road to feeling better soon!
