I started having gas pains on Tuesday... and had them everyday (usually beginning in the afternoon and lasting until the evening).....      Guess what was causing them?   YOGURT!     I started eating Yogurt on Monday... and was having it for breakfast because it was quick and easy..    so yesterday, I stopped the yogurt and low and behold.. NO gas pains!   I have had no problem with cheese or cottage cheese but for some reason the Yogurt tears me up...   I hope this won't last forever because I really like Yogurt.   Anyone else find they have trouble with Yogurt?

I LOVE yogurt, and I eat a boatload of it.  But I hadn't tried it until I was 6 months + out of surgery.  Maybe its one of those foods you can "revisit" later in your journey and try?  Best of luck to you!

Hi,  Glad you findly found out what it was!  I still can't do milk or yogurt, and I'm 20 mo. out. I still do cheeses/cottage cheese just fine, but not  the others.I've been lactose intorerant from 6 weeks out but just had to try again & tried a few weeks  ago with the same results, so I guess for me it is a no go. I hope you feel better and remember sometimes it isn't worth the pain/gas,etc.!I sure am staying away from them. (I do like soymilk (Continental 8 lite vanilla) and 1/2 frozen banana or other friut and 3 ice cubes- frozen slushy-8grams protien & a fruit) and if you add a powdered protein mix it adds more protien!) (((hugs))) Ellen
