I"M BACK!!!! Oh wow, we ended up traveling over 5800 miles in 3 weeks, and my butt is dragging!!! First to Fla. to move our daughter & her family, then to "HOT"Lanta(Atlanta) for a week, on to Helen Ga. home 1 1/2 days ( to see Dr. and get camper ready) then off to Minn. & Iowa camping with oldest daughter & SIL.We had a great time hangin out together, sightseeing, fishing (nope too hot- only one good day out of 10) and having fun. SOME of the things I did/acheived: 1. Going up to Stone Mountiain in a tram ( couldn't go before- too big)and standing/walking on the surface ( looks like the moon) 2.Walking in downrown Atlanta & going to Atlanta Underground- NEVER again! Really unsafe, police on every corner, told to "watch your back" YIKES!! 3. Walking 2-3 miles a day in 90+ degree heat. 4.Wearing SHORTS, SWIMSUIT,and SLEEVELESS TOPS- a real first for me in public, for years!! I have wore my swimsuit at our Hot Tub get togethers but NEVER in public!I  Ireally felt like I'd reached a milestone with this one. 5.Hiking up the Blue Mound (3 miles total) with huge inclines and not having to stop- beautiful wildflowers in bloom, and sights. 6. WATERSLIDING and TUBING at a water park- I'm  58 and this was another "First" for me- what fun- I went 5 times and carried my own tube!!!  My daughter (who is a postal mailcarrier and walks 9 miles a day )was so proud of me for being able to walk with her for miles at a time. Last time we camped I could only go 1/2-1 mile at a time then was done.I really feel blessed to even be able to walk- Hubby even found a pre-opt photo of me at Grand Canyon walking with a cane and having to drive the whole trip as close to the ridge to get out of the car and see anything- I really have come a long way.Truly I'm so grateful for this new life I've been given.  I really enjoyed every moment with my family and friends, and came away from my travels with a real sense of accomplishment, and gratitude for my many blessings.  I recieved a call today from my daughter in Fla. and she has 2 part-time jobs now, the kids are enrolled in school, and they are thinking of coming home for Thanksgiving to see everyone. They aren't too happy with the location they are in, but his schooling will be over in Nov. and they can go anywhere afterwards- hopefully closer to home!1200 miles is too far!! Well, enough about me. I doubt we will be camping anywhere soon****il the OH campout) - we both are exhasted from the heat & long drives.  We do have a wedding to go to and a reunion coming up, but they are within 60 miles. I won't be at the Clothing Exchange as that is our niece's wedding day, so hope you all have a blast! Think about coming up to the campout- she has cabins with AIR, and it is going to be soooo much fun!  Hope to see you all soon!!!! Love ya bunches, Ellen

Hey!!!! My sissy is home!!! Glad you had a great trip full of WOW's!! We are heading out Friday for King's Island and will be home sometime Monday. I'll have my cell on me. If we have some downtime, I'll give you a call. Work has been so hectic that I doubt I get a chance to call you before then. Ah well, it'll give you a few days to rest (and get your laundry caught up ).  Missed you sweetie! Sherri

Welcome back home.  I've missed your post.  We were in Atlanta last spring.  We stayed downtown and I did a lot of walking by myself while DH was in meetings.  I walked to olympic park (about 6 blocks from our hotel) It is really nice. We did the underground in the evening and went to Hard Rock Cafe.  Never felt unsafe but there were a lot of homeless on the streets trying ti beg a buck. Actually they offered to show us how to get to where we were going (for cash of course) we declined and they bothered us no more.  I loved stone Mountain. Did you stay for the laser and fireworks show?  It was fantastic. DH grumbled about sitting around waiting for it the day we were there but hasn't stopped talking about it since.   I can't make campout. We have to go to a wedding at 2 that day.  I hope you look back at the old posts. We are having a party on the 18th of Aug and I hope you can make it.  Better rest those weary traveling bones
