Linda, That would be great!  I know I have to wait a while before I can have anything done, but it is never too early to start researching, and saving :) I know I am going to have my arms done, that is the part that I hate the most.  We'll have to see how the last 40 -50 pounds come off to see if I need to do anything else. :) St V's has been awesome so far even though I'm pre-op. The couple times I've been up in their facility (once to see a maternal fetal medicine specialist for pre-conception counceling last year) and also to their Women's center to visit some family members who delivered there, as well as my consult for my WLS it seemed no matter which area of the facility I was in everyone seemed very very courteous, friendly and helpful.

I had surgery Friday the 13th of April and am doing great.  Was able to go home Saturday the 14th and am now up to walking 10000 aerobic steps a day for the past week.  Remember this is a process.  As long as you work hard to change it will be a great thing. Wear your belly belt that you get and walk walk walk and walk some more...... Follow the yellow sheet, weigh and measure your food if it goes in your mouth.  I do it still to this day. Bless you. Danielle, I had surgery at St. V on 11/21/06. I thought they were wonderful there. They took very good care of me, and the follow-up care is also excellent. Good luck with your surgery. We're all rooting for you on here! Linda Vicory

Hi Danielle .  St. Vincent is great and so is Dr. Evanson, you'll just love him.  I know you won't be dissapointed. Wow the 13th is almost here too.  If you are interested in going to some of the Ft. Wayne Support group meetings post op drop me a line and we can car pool down there.  I live on US 6 outside of Waterloo so we are almost neighbors!  Good luck and keep us posted.

Danielle- I just posted on the Indiana board titled---------St. Vincents praises.  Your question offered me the perfect oppurtunity to share with the whole board how I feel about St. V's - thank you for that! I would only send people to St. V's - they are wonderful! Lisa

I had mine there on Oct. 24, 2006. Drove just under 3 hrs to get there for it and it was well worth the drive. My only suggestion is that when you get up out of bed, do it from the right side. All your incisions (if laproscopic) are on the left and I found it quite painful to get up from the left side. When I got home I got up from the right and it was much better. Good luck and you're in good hands!
