Hi Guys
I am a week out of surgery...doing well.  Just wondering if anyone here takes Omacor post surgery.  I am suppose to start back on it.  It makes me nervous because it is such a large pill. Any info would help.
Thanks
Rebekah

bekah, I bought a pill splitter after surgery at CVS and it was under 5 dollars.  I cut some of my pills in 4 pieces.  It works great on pills that arent time released.  I dont know anything about Omacor but u might ask you pharm or dr if its ok to cut it up.   Hope this helps. Pamela

Thanks for the reply.  I have a pill splitter I use for my glucophage.  But Omacor is full of an oil.  Kind of like Fist oil.  My surgeon says even if it got stuck going down it should dissolve quickly.  I am just worried about it.

Rebeka, I'm 6wks out and I have to take trinsicon. It is a really lg cap it goes down ok, it hasn't gotten stuck but sometimes it does lay a little heavy until it desolves.  Cheryl

I have taken a rather large multi-vitamin (solid caplet) and an Omega-3 oil filled capsule over an inch long and almost 1/2 inch in diameter since I was 2 weeks out.  I don't split or crush my pills, never have.  I think it has helped to keep my stoma open and prevent strictures. Best wishes.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
