Have you looked at the show "Big Medicine?"...As I remember if you go to their site (TLC) that if you are willing to share you weight loss story there may be free surgery or some type of reinbursement. You can only try...also try to website and look around for other states and physicians who do weight loss surgery on the larger patient. Good luck to you..as I have been told and truly believe "if there is a will there is a way."

Yes I've talked to Dr Garth Davis---he was willing to do my surgery but I later found out they don't take out of state medicare---and the show does not pay for surgery so that's kinda not for me but thanks for the info

Hi Angie, I am scheduled for a revision to the Duodenal Switch(DS) with Dr. Inman on Oct. 3rd.  You will love her.  She is so warm and caring and definitely a straight shooter.  She was my original surgeon for my first procedure 10 years ago (my ring failed) and I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else but her, even if any other surgeons around here performed the DS. Also, I wanted to let you know that since you will be in town on Monday the 16th to see Dr. Inman you may want to check out our local Duodenal Switch Support Group.  It is made up of pre- and post-ops; some of the nicest people you could ever meet.  It is held at the Fishers Public Library (which isn't very far from Carmel where Dr. Inman/St. Vincent's is located) at 7:00pm until 8:30pm.  If you would like more information or directions, please let me know. Good luck with your appointment with Dr. I.  I know you will love her.  Take care!

Hi thanks for taking the time to write me---I'm afraid I won't be able to attend the support group---the appointment should be over about 3 or so and we plan on driving home---to cut as much cost as we can (meaning a hotel) I'm excitied and can't wait to get this thing started and find out what I need to do ---- take care
